My journey as a massage therapist began as an artist. Drawing, crafting, photography, videography, graphic design, jewelry making, and sewing have all helped me to understand my love for working with hands, and my passion for caring for those who struggle with chronic pain.
The idea of going to massage school was planted in me one day in the year 2010 when my life was focused on raising our 2 younger children. The timing was less than ideal, and a few years went by before I began investing into my own pursuits. I take joy in creating things: I started a small business designing jewelry, then found a niche in sewing and started another business designing and making tactical gear.
As enthusiastic as I was about this endeavor, the long hours at an industrial sewing machine began to take a toll on my body. Chronic hip, lower back, and elbow pain prevented me from continuing this path as I sought solutions from doctors, physical therapists, and you know it: Google and YouTube!
These years spent dealing with pain eventually returned me to my dream of becoming a massage therapist. In the 11 years since that day, I had gained the priceless advantage of personal experience and new empathy for the many people who suffer from chronic pain. I felt in my heart that it was time to begin my formal training in massage therapy.
I finished massage school by the end of that year and acquired my license to practice massage therapy in March 2022. It was an amazing time of convergence, and I am in awe of how everything we go through truly has a purpose! As an artist and massage therapist, it’s a great honor and privilege to offer my skills, knowledge, and experience to help others - including you - in the journey towards better health and quality of life.
